I dont know if I have done the sweater correctly :shrug: I am now stucked on sewing the shoulder seam together and the pattern asked for mattress stitch. I got the effy feeling that the shoulder sides are not right. THe Back pieces drops (cascading down) at shoulder and the front pieces drops at shoulder too is it meant to be like that?
If i lay the front and back (right side) to sew together it just doesnt match !! But if i put the pieces on top of each other it matches?!! (hope u understand what i am on about) I have done a rough sketch to describe.
I just wanted to correct it before i gone too far. IF is wrong which piece is incorrect? Front or Back?
It’s common for the shoulders to be sloped, it makes for a better fit when worn but you’re right, when you lay the pieces shoulder to shoulder, right sides facing, to seam it together they won’t match. Just take one shoulder at a time - line up the first one and seam it together, then line up the other one as best you can and seam it together.
ok, this is going to sound silly :oops: But how do i seam it together? Do i lay the pieces shoulder to shoulder (right side facing ) to do the mattress stitching or put the pieces on top of each other to do the mattress stitching?
