Help needed please

Hello all you lovely helpful knitters, remember me, Lisa the loopy stitch knitter, well I’m back again with a request for help needed by a friend of mine, really hope someone can help, here goes…

Does anyone know where I can find spare parts and an instruction book for an electric Toyota Linking Machine model A500. I believe it is almost identical to the Silver Reed DL 1000. This is a machine for joining seams on knitted garments, maybe they all work the same way in which case an instruction book for any make would do.Any information would be appreciated. She has already been intouch with Toyota but they can’t help and they don’t know anyone that can.Thank you…

We are in the UK so all help really appreciated, thanks Knitters, love Lisa

Hi Lisa:

I don’t know if this wil help, but I found this:

Q: What is a Linker?

A: There are two kinds of products known as linkers.
One is a stand-alone machine that has a round cylinder of needles that a piece of knitting will be hung on. The second piece of knitting is hung over the first and the linking machine will seam the fabric together.
The other type of linker is a small carriage-type accessory that “walks” across the knitting machine bed. This linker provides a quick, neat cast-off edge, or it can be used to join two pieces of knitting.

It seems this site is in the UK, and they have all sorts of info about knitting machines, even old ones that are n’t being manufactured! Hop this helps!

Sorry, I lied. They are in Minnesota. However, I was looking on their machine and equipment section (linked from the other site I gave you) and they have the toyota machines for sale…don’t know if it is the one you are looking for, but you could certainly give them an email!!
