Help needed clarifying pattern

Here’s what it says:

inc. one st at each end of the 3rd and every following 4th row until…

So, I think this means that I count each row and would increase on 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, etc. OR does it mean that I increase on 3, 4 and then start counting the next row as 1 again so that the next increase would be on the ‘real’ row 7?

Just want to do it right the first time.

I would say it means the 3rd, 7th, 11th, 15th, etc. It says increase in the third row and every following 4th row. To me that means every 4th row AFTER the third row.

I would agree with Brenda on this one. 3rd, 7th, 11th, etc, until you don’t need to anymore.
