I have been going crazy looking for a lace baby blanket pattern about 48" square. I bought 2 skeins of Fino (alpaca/silk blend) in white to knit a lace blanket for my grandson who will be arriving in December.
Everything I’ve found has been either way too difficult for this novice lace knitter, or it calls for a heavier weight yarn, or if I like it - it is shown as a triangular shawl.
I’m thinking about the Butterfly Garden pattern from FiberTrends, but it doesn’t give dimensions when using laceweight yarn. However, since it is a square, I guess I could just add more rows until it is as large as I want - has anyone knitted Butterfly Garden…if so, did you like it?
Anybody have an ideas for lace patterned baby blankets? I want this to be something that will be handed down to the next generation.
Have you looked at Cozy from Knitty? It’s a very simpe lace pattern, and depending on your gauge you can make it whatever size you want. (Personally I’d double the yarn…but that’s just me )
That looks like the pattern on the sweater I’m wearing now!! That makes me so excited, because I love this sweater and it’s wearing out. Maybe I can adapt this to a sweater when I’ve got some more experience.
Thanks so much! That site link is wonderful - I had looked at about 10 sites, but none gave the detail that your link provided. Now I think I can just order the pattern and feel good that it will turn out the way I want. Can’t wait to start knitting with that fabulous Fino yarn!
