Hey there, long time, no see!
Now that holiday knitting is over (mostly, I swear!), I’m looking to knit myself a cowl for those cold walks to work.
Cowls seem simple enough, true, but I still have so many decisions to make! I want it to be long enough to be worn as a hood and still loose and wide enough to gather at the neck when worn down. So, would it be best to knit it as a straight tube or would some shaping work better?
I like the look of 1:1 ribbing but hate knitting it. Would stockinette curl too much, or would the nature of the cowl hide that anyway? What other stitches do you recommend?
I have two skeins of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in moss and verdigris and while I’m unsure if I will need both for the length I want, I have no idea how to incorporate both of these colours without it looking like a stripey mess.
It’s been so long since I’ve picked up anything but socks that I’m a little nervous about it. And it’s just a tube! Any advice is greatly appreciated.
