Howdy~
I bought some ‘regular addis’ from someone and was told they are just like turbos. But these needles seem stickier. Has this been anybody else’s experience?:??
Also, do regular addis have a number stamped on the side of the needles?
TIA!

Um…In my experience there are 3 kinds of addis. The turbos (which are nickel plated) the lace addis (which have a pink cord and are a bit “stickier” for lace knitting purposes) and the wooden ones.
Maybe the wooden ones have a size stamped onto them but the turbos have it on their cord, and I think the lace ones too.
Oh, I should’ve clarified. These are not bamboo, nor the lace ones.
What needles do have a number stamped on the side (not the cord)?
I’m interested if others have had any experience too, as I’ve had the opportunity to feel these “regular” addis at my LYS knit night, and am thinking they felt a bit grabby too.
All my Addi’s feel the same, but maybe they’re all Turbos? I do have one with a number stamped on it, but I just assumed that it was a newer version.
Does anyone else have addis with the number stamped on the side? Where’d you get them? What’s the package look like?
(I’m turning off my interogation lamp now…)
If they are Addis and they are bamboo then you have the Addi Naturas. Addi Turbos are metal and have a nickel finish. Any needle made out of bamboo is going to be more grabby than metal. That is just the nature of the material.
this is a great question… it didn’t occur to me that there was a “regular” version that wasn’t the turbo or naturas; I thought addi’s came in 2 variations: metal and bamboo.
