Help me find this pattern!

A friend wants me to knit this for her, but I need a pattern to follow:

I looked on Ravelry, but I didn’t see anything that matches this. Does anyone have ANY ideas on how to find this pattern???

Thanks!

how about this one - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/big-chunky-cable-knit-blanket - very similar style, just a slightly smaller gauge, although that’s an easy fix with larger yarn or 2 strand together… what an ambitious big cable blanket!
.

also this search - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#page=2&query=cable%20blanket&photo=yes&craft=knitting&sort=created&view=captioned_thumbs&availability=free - came up with 9 pages of cabled blankets… and some of them are big scale (and in that search, all the patterns are free!)

Cindy, are you looking for the cable pattern or a complete afghan pattern? I’ve been looking at cable patterns but haven’t seen this exact one. It really feels like one I’ve seen before but I’m not finding it. Maybe it was at redheart.com in their free patterns? There are so many there to look at,

Well, GG, I have been looking for the complete afghan pattern, but I suppose that if I found the cable pattern, I could just adjust it for the afghan!! What do you think??

Thanks XtopherCB! I’m going to send that pic to her and see what she thinks!!!

I think the Big Chunky Cable Knit Blanket X linked to is probably going to meet with your friend’s approval. Good sleuthing there! Personally I find that people who say, can you knit this for me? usually aren’t that interested in exact matches. If you do end up trying to copy the cable exactly it shouldn’t be too hard to figure the number of stitches to make it the right size. Working out the cable pattern would be extremely challenging for me. I’d have to really want to work at it to even try.

Thanks GG!!

Actually, the cable part shouldn’t be too hard to do when I have the pattern. I wouldn’t be able to figure it out on my own, that’s for sure.

Usually when somebody asks me to make them something, I tell them “Oh sure, for about …(fill in a price)” and then they look at me like I’ve got 3 heads, as if to say “Oh, you want me to pay you for all that work you’re going to do for me??” duuuuhhh!!!

But I am waiting to hear back from this person about the Big Chunky Cable picture! My next dilemma is how to figure out how much $$ to charge her!!!
