Hiya
I am knitting a James C Brett patternJB398.
I am not following the instructions for knitting the rib neck…
picked up 73 stitches
1st row knit - all good
2nd row (k2,P2) 6 times K2togtbl, k1, k2tog, (P2,K2) 11 times 71 stitches - all good
3rd row (P2K2) 10 times P2 (K2,P2) 5 times 69 st - all good…
Now I am stuck…!!
Keeping continuity of rib and dec’s at centre of V, work 4 rows more dec as before… 61 st.
Could anyone tell me the next 4 rows…please?
Also when you P2tog tbl do you gain a stitch or do you put wool fwd?
Tks for help guys.
Really, the best way to knit this is to look at the columns of knits and purls from the previous rows. Continue that pattern and on the RS rows, decrease on either side of the center k1. You’ll be working 8 rows total.
It might be a good reminder to put a marker before the center stitch when viewed from the RS.
It’s an adorable pattern and such a funny pattern photo.
sSadly that is really difficult for me to do… it all seems a pickle in the middle… I really need to work out the next 4 rows if anyone can help… greatly appreciate it…
Yes its a lovely pattern and I was told suitable for a beginner… hahaha
It may not be you. There’s a problem in row 3. It doesn’t add up to 69sts and since there are no decreases, stitch count should remain at 71 sts.
3rd row (P2K2) 10 times P2 (K2,P2) 5 times 69 st
Can you check row 3?
Its me not typing in correctly
Should be.
(P2, K2) 10 times P2,K1, P2tog, P1 P2togtbl, K1 P2 (K2,P2) 5 times 69 st.
Should have gone to specsavers… sorry
Try this but there are no guarantees. You might test knit it on a swatch. Place a marker on either side of the middle stitch to make sure that it aligns up the center of the V. The best approach is to read your knitting to make sure that the columns of sts line up neatly.
