Help! Is there any way this pattern is correct?

I’ve been working on the Smock Coat pattern from Debbie Bliss’s Simply Baby book, which I found free online here: http://www.candis.co.uk/pm/65

Both the back and left panels of the coat started with 3.25mm needles, changed to 3.75mm needles, and returned to 3.25mm needles. According to my instructions, though, the right panel starts with 3.25mm needles, changes to 3.75mm needles, but never changes back. Can this possibly be correct?

It isn’t impossible, since there seems to be some pretty serious shaping going on, although it doesn’t seem likely. Have you searched for pattern corrections? I would try searching the debbie bliss site and see if she has listed the pattern as being revised?

carmen - Yeah, I checked the errata page on DB’s site, but she doesn’t even have the book itself listed, much less any corrections. I have put sooo many hours into this project (and 10 balls of yarn!) that I’d hate to get it wrong.

The only answer then is the old fashioned, try, try again! I guess do it both ways and see which turns out right. :grrr:

I’m mad for you!

Is there anywhere on her site that gives an email address? I had a major problem with a Rowan pattern, I managed to get there email address And sent my question in. I had a reply 2 days later It could be worth a try.
