Help interpret this pattern please!

I am trying to make this awesome tote purse and am stuck at the part to create handles. When it says to cast off 20 stitches and then cast 20 back on when I knit around again, does that mean I bind off 20 stitches, and then cast on 20 more on the nest round, or just put the 20 stitches back on that I cast off ugh!!! I really want to make this purse so bad!:roflhard:

Bind off the sts on one round, continue around and when you come back to the space they left, CO another 20.

You bind off 20, knit round until you come to space and then cast on 20 again. I recommend backwards loop cast on, because it’s easy and fast.

IN my sleep last night I was actually able to visualize this, haven’t ever done the backwards loop caston, maybe a good time to try it out. Thank you for your confirmations on this topic!:muah:

No, don’t use the backwards loop CO! It leaves a lot of loose yarn and is overall too loose to use for a handle anyway. Use the knit or cable CO instead.

I agree with Suzeeq! 20 is way too many stitches for the backwards loop–it’ll be way too loose.
