Hi everyone, just trying to find a similar pattern to create something as close as possible to this scarf ( it’s in Gilmore Girls).
My take is that it must have been machine made because of how I’ve tried similar patterns ( little bird stitch with garter instead of stockinette) and have tried various cable patterns, but it doesn’t lay flat and doesn’t create the desired outcome at all.
So I’m just here for inspiration and to see if anyone knows what I could do to recreate as close of a pattern as possible.

I looked at a different pic of the scarf and thought it could possibly be something like this small cable
The cables could be worked closer together.
I checked my stitch dictionary, 400 knitting stitches by Potter Crafts, and found a couple of similar ones on page 146 called Wild Oats 2 and Seeds. They’re slipped stitch patterns, in any case.
It’s difficult to make out the specifics of the pattern from your picture. I received an email from Interweave Knitting which had a pattern for Herringbone Stitch that I thought looked similar. I checked out the pattern on google pictures and found another pattern called Woven Transverse Herringbone. Sorry for the late response but I was not able to log into Knitting Help for a while. I’ll attach the picture I found and you can see if it is what you’re looking for.
