My best friends birthday is coming up in 2 weeks, and I haven’t started anything for her yet! :!!!: I made her a scarf for xmas, so I can’t do that again… any ideas??? I haven’t really gotten into mittens or socks yet, so don’t really want to try to learn those in 2 weeks unless it’s REALLY EASY :roflhard: Maybe a small purse? Anyone???
Ideas appreciated
Help! I need something quick and easy to knit!
How about a hat?
hat to match the scarf…purse is good too!
Do you have the Fiber Trend Clog pattern? You could easily do that in 2 weeks. Or a felted bag?
how about fetching from knitty? http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer06/PATTfetching.html
There is a thumb to do but it’s not very difficult. And VERY quick to knit. If you don’t want to do cables, there are tons of other patterns for wristwarmers. Basically just knit a tube, leave a space for the thumb and you’re done.
Fetching is great! It was the first time I actually sat and paid attention to the cables that I was doing to make sure they came out right and they were really very easy to do. I even incorporated those cables into another pattern I am making (I am having second glove syndrome right now…lol) Very good choice I would say!
Fetching sounds like a good idea.
Also, the felted trivet (hot pad) in the book Felted Knits by Beverly Galeskas is a quick and easy knit. I love the one I made and use it all the time. There are a lot of other great ideas in the book, too.

she’s working on her phd, so alas this would be counter-productive for her and her homework time though :verysad:
I did go through all of my sorry to say lacking pattern collection and just decided to grab some leftovers from my stash and start a quick hat. Thankfully, I had some leftover yarn (blue) from the scarf I made her, so I am double stranding that with some white for the brim and will switch to just white for the bulk of the hat. Yay for double strand on size 11 circs! :cheering:
