Help! Heirloom Shawl

Hi There,

I am not a very experienced knitter and have finished the shawl but am stumped on the border. I cannot work out where I am going wrong the way I read the following I need 15 sts but only have 14 which is what the pattern says, can somebody help.

The pattern says: sl1, k2tog, yfwd, k1, yfwd, skpo (k1, yfwd) twice, (k1, yfwd and k1) all into the next st, (yfwd, k1) twice, yfwd and yrn, k2 tog, k1

I think where I am going wrong is the (k1, yfwd and k1) all into the same st, is this using just one st or two?

It should use just one, you are doing 3 things to a single stitch so it only uses up one. Have you searched online for official errata or other people figuring out the solution?
