Help for cable sweater for sick son

Help. Started a warm sweater for my son who’s on chemo (would like to get it done as fast as possible) and I’m stuck. It’s a cable pattern on 10 stitches (first row knit, second pearl, 3rd row cable, etc.–this I understand. What I don’t get is the following instructions:

Change to larger needles and proceed in pat as follows:
1st row: (RS). K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3).
[Work 1st row of panel pat. K2 (2-3-2- 3-2-3)] 6 (8-8-10-10-12-12) times.
2nd and alt rows: [K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3).
Work 2nd row of panel pat] 6 (8-8-10- 10-12-12) times. K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3).
Panel pat is now in position.

Can anyone figure this out?
Can anyone help me.

The numbers in the () are for the different sizes. So you k 2 or 3 sts depending on size, work the 1st row of the cable patt, then k2 or 3 sts and repeat the cable patt and the 2 or 3 sts however many times for your size. The first knit sts aren’t repeated.

my sympathies about your son - I hope that he is immediately returned to full and robust health.

we will all hope that your son masters his challenge and gets better soon.
Do you need help with anything else on this pattern? Just ask!
But I think, suzee has answered all the problems to this point.
