Hi,
I’m knitting sleeves, from the top down. The directions tell me to:
decrease 1 stitch at each end of needle every third row.
Does every third row mean I should decrease on row 1, again on row 4, again on row 7?
Or does it mean to dec on row1, row3, row5–in other words, every other row?
Thanks,
ctp
Hi,
I haven’t knitted anything from the top down, but knitting from the bottom up you would decrease on the 1st, 4th, 7th row, etc, and I think that’s what you’re meant to do. HTH : )

Thanks so much. this was the first time I’ve actually asked a question. How wonderful to get such a speedy answer. ctp
You’re welcome! I’ve asked a question for the first time today too.
Yeah, its better of down to up, its easier and less confusing

Knitting up or knitting down, every 3rd row is every third row. So yes it’s Rows 1, 4, 7, 10 etc…
