# Help dividing stitches

Hi. I am working on the charmed knits Quidditch sock pattern and I am confused on how to divide my stitches between 4 dpns. The pattern is as follows: CO 30;

Divide sts on 4 dpns, keeping half of the total number of sts on the first 2 needles, and the other half on 3 and 4

Rnd 1: Inc: *K2, K1b into prev st, K11, k1b into next st, K2; rep from * to end 34 sts.

I had them divided as 8,8,7,7, but I cant fit the K2 repeat in the second time. Any ideas to correct my math? Pretty please?

Thanks so much

Jenn

Hi! It sounds to me like that you need to have 15 sts across needles
1 and 2 and 15 across 3 and 4 so that you are keeping the half
and half ratio the pattern suggests. I would put 8 on needle 1, 7
on needle 2, 8 on needle 3 and 7 on needle 4. At first glance that
should make everything come out even but can’t be certain without
actually sitting and knitting it!

Thank you so very much! It did the trick. Sometimes my math skills at things are just dumb luck, but I’m learning
