This is an adorable cardigan pattern I found on the inside of Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Diva wrapping. The problem is like some vintage pattern, it only has ONE SIZE being 34". Although I ambetter than a beginner, I’m not able to figure out this upsizing to 38". Any suggestions would be great.
My gauge of 4" x 4" is perfect using suggested knitting needles of size 8. I don’t want to increase my needles in size as I love the way my swatch is UNLESS IT were my only option.
I can’t believe in the modern time that Hobby Lobby would have it for 1 size only with no other options or links even. There are a few typos though…lol. I have GOOGLED the hell out of this. I just bought the NEW KNITTERS TEMPLATE recently, but I still would love another way or reworking this pattern to 38".
What REALLY STUMPS me is essentially working in pattern is taking up 24 rows AUTOMATICALLY so any reworking also has to include a perfect fit for including working in pattern. But then again I see there isn’t pattern on the back just each side if the front. Yikes… :knitting:

You could always increase at the sides of the back and on each side of the front in reverse stockinette stitch without the pattern stitch. Since it’s only about 4 inches more that you’d like, that is probably the easiest solution.
(The pattern repeat is 26sts so you could also consider adding another repeat although that would increase the size by about 6inches and you’d have to divide it between the two fronts.)
As you say, the pattern on the back is plain rev st st so not difficult to increase the size there.
Can you crop the pattern you posted so that the entire pattern isn’t in the post, please? That way we won’t run into copyright problems.
Omgoshhh, i thought when they put it on the back for free they didn’t care as long as you didn’t make money or charge people for them. I’m not sure how to edit on here. If I take out any part of the pattern what if a brain saw this and wanted to write it up for others in med. or large, but can’t if it’s not all there to see?
