Hello! I’m new to the forum and knitting. I’m trying to knit a pattern from the KH website…Dishcloth pattern #1 Blackberries. I’ve only learned thus far, Knit and Pearl stitch. So what has me perplexed is this…
[RS] K4 - how do I knit on the right side? the wrong side is ‘facing’ me as I knit. Any videos that I can watch?
If you are on the WS then you have either knit one row to far or need to add another row of knits. Since you start on a RS row the 5th row would also be a RS row.
There is only one YO in [k1,yo,k1] so it’s a single increase. Since you do it multiple times across he row you will have multiple increases in that row though.
Welcome to KnittingHelp!
The video JPC linked to is a good one for K1, YO, K1 into a single stitch which will give you 3sts in place of one each time you do it. On row 6 you’ll decrease back to the original number of sts when you p3 stitches together.
For both rows, keep repeating the instructions between the asterisks until you get to the last 4sts. Good luck with this interesting pattern.
Learning to read patterns is an interesting and rewarding experience. It does get easier. Just reading this one I wasn’t sure what was going on but I know from experience that just working through them as written is often the best way to figure them out. If you don’t understand what’s written, it doesn’t work very well. I’m sure this should work out well for you.
