I am a crocheter, but weak crocheter…getting ready to seriously start with something easy and interesting. Would this be ok? singles and doubles is all I do…have trouble knowing where to start the first stitch after you turn.
THIS VIDEO and THIS VIDEO might help you with knowing where to start the first stitch after you turn.
THIS CHART might help you as well.
HERE is an easy crochet project that also might be a good starter project which is not just flat back and forth crocheting.
Hello Kitty is just darling! Looks like it would be fun to make too!

Northknitter, the hello kitty is all single crochet…easy peasy! And…you do it in rounds…another words, you use a little marker(like a plastic safety pin) to mark the first stitch)…then you just count your stitches…you can do it! Have fun!
