I am in over my head and don’t know any knitters! I know how to sew, crochet and weave. I just taught myself to knit. I bought a pattern for a sweater and already pulled it out two times. I am up to a part that is confusing. It says to:
Shape Neckline and Yoke
Increase neckline as est in INC row above, every 6 rows 9(9, 10. 10. 11. 11) more times AND AT THE SAME TIME work raglan increases every RSR 0 (0,1,3,4,6,9) more times; then every other RSR 8(9,9,7,7,5,4) times; then every RSR 5 (5,6,8,8,11,11) times ending with a WSR.
Any help would be great - I am determined! Thank you, Jean
Hello! I am new to site and knitting
What size are you working, first of all? And does your pattern have a name?
RSR means Right Side Row - this is the side the designer intended to be seen by the public. I’m going to assume this is the smooth knit side with your pattern.
Increase neckline as est in INC row above, every 6 rows 9(9, 10. 10. 11. 11) - the numbers just before and inside the brackets correlate with the size you’re making (so, if doing the first size, for example, you’d work 5 rows without shaping, then increase on the 6th row, 9 times)
I’ll defer to someone else for the rest of the instructions, I also get a headache from reading “at the same time” type directions lol
maybe this will help
(if not … you’re in the right place…
someone will help
Thank You! My size is the third one into the parenthesis though originally I was making it smaller it just turned out that way. So I keep on going without making it increasing every 6th row. I thought so but it is so confusing! Thanks a million. Jean
The name of the pattern is: Beld by Chic Knits ; Knit Cardigan Sweater knitting kit by Chic Knits Knit. I tried to find them online and contact them but had no luck.
Thank you Susie Q for that. I am going to try to study and digest it. Jean
You’re welcome! Yeah, I know they write it like that to save space or avoid too much repetition, but it can cause a lot of confusion. I hope you can finish it now, anyway!
