Hello Every one! I'm new & Looking for Pals here!

1st I’m New to knitting & to This SITE,
So Good Hello to you all and I hope to get some
messages soon to chat with some new Friends!!!

I love to make things of all sorts.

I’m in Hollywood California, and love the 10’s 20’s
and 30’s and Ozma of Oz… the original Book.
So I’m hoping to meet long distance and local
frinds as well. This way we can have knitting
fun together. Its really a good pass time and
great creative prosses.

AS I said I’m new so any help would be great.
I want to make a simple sweater, thats form fit,
and long like in the 20’s and early 30’s… in Argyle.
So I can wear mens ties and 20’s skirts with.

THe other i want to try is a simple, buton down of the
same with a sweet peter pan(rounded collar) Ruffle-ish
and big. I want to then use A silk flower for a button at top
with some ribbon as well. (I’m such a girl in that sence.)
Oh and it will be peach, with VERY LITTLE BROWNS
maybe some reds here and there.

so if any one wants to just chat that would be great.
I love LOVE LOVE making budies. And if you have any
advice or anything, free p[atters you know of on line etc.
that would be great as well.

Welcome to this marvellous site! You say you are a newish knitter? What kinds of things have you been knitting? I like your plans for specific sweaters that you wish to make. Do you have lots of places to purchase yarn near you? I’m in Canada, Ontario, where it is -22 today, veeeeerrrrry cold!!! No pretty sweaters for me today. Today is for my big multistriped colourful heavy woollen sweater and my down filled red parka!!! I wish I could drop in and see you today, where it is probably not so cold! Welcome to the forum! :cheering:

Making knitty friends is always good so I hope you find some close by. In the meantime a lot of us learned to knit from this website in addition to a few others I’ll link to. Grab yourself some yarn and needles and watch the videos that are linked in the tabs at the top of the forum. Start by just practicing casting on and learning the knit and purl stitches. Once you know those and your tension is good you can move on to harder projects.

Ohhhh you are all so sweet!

I’m so glad that I have found this site. Its started a great new passion for me. Mostly it is an Art I can share with a great home sweet home feeling with others.

THe other jobs i do are too bizar for people to share in my art.
Stop-motion miniture making and Piriod Costumes for film are worlds in them selves. But not driving now has mad things all the more difficult.
so its nice to have an sweet art use and share with others. This Site will be my Sewing Circle!

I have a TON of vintage knitting patterns that I got online the past few nights. So I can point you in some direction. My patterns are more of the 40s and 50s persuasion. But I still may be able to help. What you speak of doesn’ sound too hard.
