I want to do a sock pattern that calls for a heel flap. Would it be possible to just to a short row heel with wraps instead? Is there anything I’d need to change in the pattern, or could i just start working the short rows instead of making a heel flap? I do know that I wouldn’t have to pick up gusset stitches or decrease them or anything.
I think that with socks, you can substitute any type of heel or toe that you prefer. You obviously know how things work when you do a short row heel (ie. no gusset stitches to pick up) so when you finish your heel you’d just go straight back into working in the round down the foot. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
