[color=blue]Hi, I have been knitting alot of the Lionbrand pattern backpacks. The pattern calls for Lionbrand Jiffy, but for the summer I would rather use something in cotton. Never worked with cotton before. Can you recommend a cotton yarn that would be comparable to the Jiffy yarn? Thanks. Glenda

Heavy cotton yarn for backpack
My LYS has āmop yarnā which looks likeā¦ a mop!!! Itās super thick, very sturdy, and summery looking (to me). Might be comparable to Jiffy, but Iām not sure of the weight (Iāll check when I stop in tomorrow).
I have used sugar and cream and the lion brand cotton, but they are much much thinner than the Jiffy yarn; it might not work for your patternā¦ or it might knit up really tinyā¦ toddler backpack size instead of adult back pack size.
You could always try holding the sugar-n-cream doubleā¦or even TRIPLE! :shock:
