I am new to this site and using the Internet for information.
Was wondering if anyone out there knows what it means in instructions that read
"increase 1 stitch each side(working increases into the pattern? I know how to increase but the keeping to
pattern is troubling me. I’m working from a chart for the first time too.
Probably biting off more than I can handle. The pattern is found in the Fall 2008 Knitters magazine, p. 60 Lines and Vines.
Hope I’ve posted this correctly.
Thanks for any help with this. I’m itching to get started.
You can keep the edge sts out of the pattern, just knit or purl them, and the new sts would take their place after the first increase. For the next increase, you ‘back’ up a st in the pattern repeat and knit the last st of it to begin the row; at the end of the row, do the first st of the repeat. Continue to back up in pattern and add to the pattern with each increase.
