I would really appreciate some help with this. This is the first time I have knitted something more complex than a scarf, and I think I’ve done quite well at interpreting the pattern - until now!
I am knitting this Paton’s ‘wrap sweater’:http://www.mywoolshack.co.uk/cart.php?target=product&product_id=647&category_id=229
I am knitting the second size and I currently have 23 stitches on my needle (which is correct). The bit I am stuck on is as follows:
Dec 1 st at armhole edge of the next 1 [3, 3, 5, 5, 7] rows, then on foll 2 [1, 2, 1, 2, 1] alt rows and at the same time dec 1 st at the front slope edge of the next and every foll alt row [16 [16, 17, 16, 16, 16] sts)
My understanding of this is that I should do this:
row 1: decrease 1 st at the armhole, and decrease 1 st at the front slope edge (I now have 21 st in total)
row 2: decrease 1 st at the armhole (I now have 20 st in total)
row 3: decrease 1 st at the armhole, and decrease 1 st at the front slope edge (I now have 18 st in total)
row 4: work a row without decreasing
row 5:decrease 1 st at the armhole, and decrease 1 st at the front slope edge (I now have 16 st in total)
Is my interpretation right, or no where close??
We have a 4 day Easter holiday here in the UK (not sure if it’s the same in the States?) so have a good chance to get some knitting done over the next few days, but need to get over this hurdle first!
Many thanks!
