I’m a beginning knitter working on an easier teddy bear pattern. I’m doing fine, but this one line from the pattern confuses me:
“Break off 12 inches of yarn, thread through remaining stitches and gather tight for assembly”
So, in layman’s terms…am I supposed to cut off 12 inches of my yarn, thread it through the stitches that are on the needle, and then just slip the stitches off the needle without casting off? They’ll stay together and not unravel, right? Or am I understanding this wrong?
If it helps, this is the instruction at the end of knitting the arm and the body pieces.
