Hello Everyone, Does anyone know of a website that will help me in reading patterns? I went to the bookstore and was browsing thru knitting books, found one that explained the order in which you do things and how many times. Of course I did not write down the book tittle and have not been able to locate it again. I have questions like, when it says: K3, yo [k2 tog ] twice. Does this mean yo, k2tog, k2tog or yo, k2tog, then k2tog, k2tog ? Thanks for any insight.
when it says k3 yo [k2tog] twice, you do
k3, yo, k2tog, k2tog
you repeat only the part between [] that number of times
For patterns, you read from right to left, for odd numbered rows and left to right for even numbered rows.
If there is a repeat in the pattern (mostly surrounded by a red square or similar), you knit until you come to the repeat, and then repeat what is in there the number of times required, then knit the rest, if there is any.

I think you mean charts for patterns, especially the part about red squares… If it’s written out, you read the same as you do any text.
Oh right, I confused pattern and chart, because they serve the same purpose
