Have you tried Soy Silk yarn?

Today we were in Charleston for my husband’s bday and he took me to the LYS (he’s very, very sweet :inlove: ) where I saw this 100% soy silk tape like yarn from SWTC(southwest trading co)! I had been wanting to try it AND the store is moving and it was 50% off, so we got all of it, but there were only 5 skeins. I need help…have you any ideas what I can make for Lonnie with this? Total of 875 yds of yarn; gauge: 4sts, 6 rows with size 8’s. The name of it is Phoenix, color is natural. I know it’s not enough for anything so large as a sweater…but I need manly ideas…have you any? He’s so sweet, when in the sock yarn section, he grabbed 2 balls of white yarn and asked if I would make him some short (ankle ht) socks for gym…YES, of course I will  .
Kelley has recommended the book to get for our ‘sweater tutorials’…Lonnie ordered it  . I’m very much a ‘garment’ novice…is this in any way enough yarn for any type of a t-shirt…?!
Any and all help and suggestions are welcome
Thanks, ya’ll

How about some sexy boxer shorts? Soy silk is soooooo soft. or a wide long maybe cabled scarf for winter?

LOL…I thought about the boxers right away…lol!!..girly  minds think alike :roflhard: :roflhard: … and the only thing that I really thought of was the same thing…a very nice cable scarf…are we smart or what?!..thanks, kemp

I found this scarf to do for Lonnie and it will look yummy made out of this yarn that he bought me when we were in Charleston  . I should have plenty left over to do a hat and I’m sure I’ll be able to fashion some socks (when I find the sock yarn to blend with this color), as well

very nice! I think that will look great in the soy.

Kemp, are you supposed to have a picture under ‘my blog’ @ your signature? Because I’m not picking it up :frowning:
Oh…and thank you very much…I think that it is gonna be ohh so yummy and berry, berry :inlove: sexy :inlove:

There’s THIS! :happydance:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: I may have enough yarn left over for it, too!! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

:roflhard: I never noticed that pattern before.

Looks like you could even do it out of sock yarn if you run out of the soy!

There is a pic under my signature…I wonder why it’s not showing up for you? It shows on mine. You’re not missing anything though

I don’t know what’s up with my computer…some times things show up …othr times, not…so; tell me what it is anyway…lol! please

:roflhard: inquiring minds…just a little blog button.

Actually rebecca, you’re not the only one that has the problem, as for why Kemp can see it, my theory is because she has it already on her system, which would suggest that the pic is not on Amy’s server anymore, only thing I can think of, is to reupload it.

Apparently I am FORBIDDEN to see it, too. :frowning:

hmm…stupid computer. If you just can’t stand not seeing the nothing you are missing…just go to my blog page. I have three little buttons in the top of the right navigation bar and the pic on here is the one of the woman knitting.

Apparently I am FORBIDDEN to see it, too. :([/quote]

it is far too naughty for your eyes!!

:roflhard: yes, that’s it…there is a block on it for knotty content

Now you have to make it something really, really good!

You girls are far too knotty :fingerwag: for your own good…shame shame :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: ya’ll are just too bad :roflhard: :roflhard:
