Hat Seam

I am a Newbie and have just knitted a hat. I did it on straights. I have to sew the back seam. I used Lion Brand Fancy Fur for the Chemo Cap. The yarn is so bumpy I’m thinking I need to sew the seam with something other that the yarn I knitted with. Any suggestions?

If you have a smooth yarn that is the same color, you could try that.
