Hat Pattern

I previously mentioned a pattern and that I had found an error. After contacting the designer, she says she cannot help me, because everything worked out when she tried it. I know I cannot post the pattern since it is paid, but I will give you the idea: It is top down, so it starts with 8 stitches on dpns. Every other row, it has 2 yos each needle. I followed along until I had 16 stitches on each needle but on the following row, the pattern was worked over only 14 stitches, so that means there are two extra stitches! I tried this several times. The designer said everything worked for her- the pattern looks like it would work out, but it just doesn’t! I am sad, I love that hat.

You’re working with 4 dpns plus one working needle? Can you quote just the row that’s worked over 14sts?

Yes 4 dpns and working needle.
Row 13 is k7, yo, k7 yo (that is 16 stitches right?) The following is where I am having trouble, and based on the rest of the instructions, everything seems to be off!
yo, k1, yo, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6
The next pattern row is also over 14 stitches with 4 yos- which is 18 stitches at the end of that row

You could try and make sense of it by working backwards from the last yarn over row but if there’s such strange math going on I’m not sure that that’ll work.
Are any of the yarn overs dropped on a row? A note at the beginning of the pattern to that effect?
What is the name of the pattern please?

No dropping as far as I can see. It is Cotton wool summer hat - Mila by North Charm

This is such a graceful hat. It’s a pity that the pattern is so difficult to understand. There are no projects listed over the past 4 years on the Ravelry page.
The designer is responsible to support the pattern and answer questions like yours. Perhaps the staff at Ravelry can help?

I love this pattern. If you do solve the issue please share and if you can I will order the pattern myself.

Does this Row (I am guessing 15) yo, k1, yo, k6, yo, k1, yo, k6 say repeat to the end of the round or are there more instructions. I enlarged the crown pattern and it looks like an extra YO is worked on Needles 1 & 3 only. I hope this helps.

One way to continue this pattern is to extend the eyelets without the little fork in the pattern:
Row 15 yo, k8, yo, k8
Row 17 yo, k9, yo, k9
Row 19 yo, k10, yo, k10
Row 21 yo, k11, yo, k11
Row 23 yo, k12, yo, k12
Row 25 yo, k13, yo, k13
