Hat help

So I have gotten to the part of the hat to where I can’t knit any more on the circular needles. What do I do??

There are three choices here. You can get 4 double pointed needles (DPN) in the same size and knit right onto them as evenly as you can, OR you can use a long cord to make about a 40 inch circular needle cable with the needles to do Magic Loop OR you can use two sets of circular needles with the same size needle and work with half of the stitches on each.

The techniques above can be found here:

And they are really not as complicated as it sounds. Once you figure out what method you want to use it’s pretty easy.

My first hat ended in crochet since I did not know how to knit on dpn’s and I had never chrochet’d either. Thought it easier to learn quickly to crochet - I was wrong. Knitting on DPN’s is not difficult and Amy has several videos to help. Just keep in mind the two needles you are working with and forget about the others. PIECE OF CAKE.

You don’t have to use a needle as long as Jan suggests unless you already have one. I’d find that the cord on that would get in the way. 30-36" would be fine and I’ve done hats on 24" needles.
