I am working on my first hat. It is the “Hard Hat” from a Toolhead Friends project book. (Basically a yellow construction hat.)
I have completed the actual hat part and moved on to the brim. After picking up from the original cast-on stitches, I added roughly 15 more rows shaping the brim. After repeating two specific rows the designated # of times, the directions are as follows:
Next Row-knit to end.
Next Row-knit to end and remove markers.
Next Row- K36, ssk, place marker, K8, place marker, skp, K19, turn.
When it says “knit to end” do they mean the end of the brim? Or to the end of that row? If the end of the row, where does the row end since it is a circle?
I know decreases have to line up correctly in order to pull of correctly making this hat so any help would be great.
Normally, when it says: next row- knit to end, they mean knit to the end of the row. I’m sure that’s the case here. As for knowing the start of the row (if done in circular, it should be called a round, really) when it’s done on circulars or dpn’s, you should have a marker to mark the start. Usually, I get a small piece of waste or scrap yarn… there’s usually something short enough laying around somewhere from after I wove in ends and trimmed off the extra. You can do that, there’s specific stuff you can buy to do that as well… you can use a safety pin… anything that would fit in there. The less it looks like your yarn you’re using, the better!
