or anyone… I love this hat! I know you made this Kelly and I was wondering if you made it for an adult or child? Did you use sock yarn and another strand of something? Is it knit like the “fake” double hat? Just want to clarify instructions and see if it’s possible to make one for ME!

This pattern is where I LEARNED about the fake dk hat! I did use sock yarn…Knitpicks. I made 2 baby versions. I would bet that if you used the same pattern and a worsted weight it would turn out great for an adult. OR, just do a gauge swatch and cast on enough for a 20" circumference…you really can make a FDK hat from almost ANY other hat pattern…
LOL Somedays it’s busy in here and easy to overlook a post.
I did make the FDH for DH in WOTA and it worked out fine. What I’m wondering now is if the self striping yarns would look wonky on a larger hat. They work fine for socks and baby hats, but I wonder if the stripes might end before the end of the row you know? 
I think it would be GREAT! Its certainly worth a try, anyway…
Yeah, I’ll have to try it. I wonder if you should use a double strand with one strand being the sock (self striping) yarn and the other a solid? Hmm…
