Hard To Learn?

I just learned how to knit in about November. So I am still new at it, but I have gotten the hang of it. Is crocheting easy to learn? Should I wait till I am more comfortable with knitting, or does it matter?

Thanks:aww:

It isn’t hard to learn the basic chain, single crochet, double crochet, or treble crochet. Especially with the help of videos at www.nexstitch.com

The most difficult thing is reading patterns, but that’s not as difficult as it seems. Just don’t rush yourself, relax, and take it a step at a time as in knitting patterns. Another good site for help is www.crochetcabana.com

Since I alternate crochet and knitting projects, I always feel like I’m learning all over again.

Good luck.

To me, I learned how to crochet first. I mostly lurk on this board but I just wanted to let you know that crocheting is very different, but that isn’t a bad thing. Crocheting to me is much easier. The only difference is that there are more stitches. Once you get the basics down, all the other stuff just builds on it. I wish you luck.

I agree-crochet to me was easier to learn than knitting-there are more stitches, but as karebear said, one stitch just builds on another. It’s really very simple, and I find crochet faster since the stitches are bigger.

Good luck!

Oh the downside of crocheting is that you defiately use more yarn.

Thanks everyone, but I think I am going to wait to build up my knitting supplies and skill before I jump into something totally new:mrgreen:
