  • We’re the second largest country in the world

  • We have two official languages

  • Canadian inventions: basketball, the electric lightbulb, the electric range, standard time, the television, the telephone and the zipper

  • Also invented by Canadiana: 5 pin bowling, the garbage bag, the goalie mask, IMax movies, the odometer, snowblowers and snowmobile (for obvious reasons), wireless radio and Trivial Pursuit.

  • A few distinctly Canadian things: toque, poutine, chesterfield, butter tarts, Tim Horton’s, “eh”, “zed” not “zee”, Winnie the Pooh, a Caesar, loonies, toonies, pop not soda, British spellings- like colour

Those are just a few things that make Canada and Canadians great!

Here in Montreal, it’s “moving day” today. :teehee: A lot of people rent, and the majority of leases end on June 30 for some reason. So on July 1st, thousands of people move! :doh:

Happy Canada Day all. I was stuck at work. I work for a company that deals with Americans and since its not a holiday there I didn’t get the day off. But I don’t get the fourth off either. Grrr.
