Yeah! I am already at work, but can’t wait to get back home tonight and open my gifts. I hope there is something knitting related (I did drop a few hints) but if not, that is a perfect excuse to buy it for myself
Happy birthday to you . MAny happy returns of the day.
Hope you have a good one and get lots of knitting prezzies.
:balloons:Have a Great Birthday!:balloons:
:clink:Happy birthday! it’s my mom’s birthday today too!:woohoo:
happy birthday!!! hooray for presents and cake!
You waited to open your presents??? I would have gotten up hours earlier just so I could open them before I left!! Happy Birthday!
I hope your day is simply wonderful!
Happy Birthday!! :woot:
I usually like to do that also, but I try to wait until the gift sender is home, and then I call them and open it while on the phone with them (I live about 1000 miles from my family). And I figure good things come to those who wait…I hope…
Happy Birthday! :balloons:
Happy Birthday :balloons:
I’ve had a very nice birthday today! My colleagues in my department (I teach at a small university) brought in a homemade cake, complete with candles. A student remembered it was my birthday and gave me a pack of gum, which was unexpected, which makes it really nice.
My parents gave me some sculpture from a local artist in SE Minnesota–is done in porcelain and is very textured and I it. They also gave me a leisure arts book called 99 knit stitches. :woohoo:It will be a great resource when I finally get around to trying to design/create something of my own.
And my folks gave me some kitchen towels and a new oven mitt. Mine were starting to look really sad. Yeah!
My sister and her family gave me 2 books in the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series by Laurie King so now I almost have the complete set:woot:.
My gift to myself so far has been weight loss. I decided to be a healthier and more fit person back in May so I can be sure to have many more birthdays to come. So far I’ve lost 23 lbs. that I do not plan on finding again any time soon!
Thanks for the Birthday wishes everybody!
sounds like a great bd, mornnen! i think the gift to yourself is the best.
as for designing your own patterns, why not try a stitch pattern on a simple tank top pattern? if it comes out nice, you could wear it under a jacket for lectures.
