I’m at the point of changing to back and forth for the thumb . The body of the work is in st stitch (every row knitted), but now I’m wondering if I have to switch to a row of knit and a row of purl to keep the st. stitch. I’m a novice knitter and have done several sets in a twisted rib, but granddaughter wanted a set of plain ones. I imagine I could just go ahead with just knitting every row, but I have a feeling that would be the wrong move, so if someone could advise me, I’d be grateful.
If you’re knitting flat (back and forth) you are right- you do need to do knit on the right (St st) side and purl on the wrong side.
