I like the handwarmers in this book and plan on making a pair. The pattern calls for 8 in circs…do they really make this size? Anyway, I want to do them on dpns instead. To make the thumb hole, the pattern says to work back and forth using 2 8in circs and then rejoin to work in the round after 8 rows or so. I want to do this with dpns…can I work back and forth…just turn the work and do the inside? Or should I just do something different for the thumb hole?
It shouldn’t really matter which method of small diameter knitting you use. It should easily be adaptable to dpns. You can for sure turn your work around and work on the wrong side, even if you’re using dpns. It’s just a different method to achieve the same result.
Clover makes TEENY TINY Plastic Circular needles, they are about 10", you will see they look too small to even use, but you get used to them quick enough
DPN do work too, and just use one corner as your arker for going Side to side
this pattern works really well
I used Alpaca, I forget what brand, but it was about 10.75 a skein and one skein made BOTH wristlettes
and about enough for a third, if I made it shorter by one Square
it was one of my Fav things to knit for a while

excellent…thank you! I’ll give the pattern a try using DPNs
