Handmade & Genuine Aran Sweater

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster.

I am looking to get a few genuine Aran Sweaters custom made for members of my family.

I am looking for some particulars so ideally I would be looking to get in touch with someone on the Aran Islands who I could maybe send my requirements to and who would make my sweaters?

Is there any type of service like this out there?

I know there are lots of online stores that sell sweaters but I know that the majority of these are machine made. I am happy to pay a premium for a genuine and handmade sweater directly from the Aran Islands.

I don’t know about where you’d get your sweaters made but just to be sure you’re aware, there are a lot of myths about Aran knitting and the patterns used. Just don’t get sucked into some sales hype that will cost you a lot more.

Caveat emptor and all that.
