Handmade by Mother

I got a kick out of this website. Thought maybe you could use a laugh today. The blogger makes fun of strange vintage patterns. The title of the blog is: Handmade by Mother so you d*#& well better wear it.

Here’s one example.

I ran across that blog a few weeks ago and just about laughed myself into a coma. The ski-masks (his, hers and the little ones too!) were how I found it, but there are all KINDS of bizarre patterns she’s dug up. And the commentary is hysterical!

But some of the stuff people used to make is… well, it’s just disturbed.

Yeah, I want some Handmade By Grandmother so you d*** well better wear it tags to go in my knitted items. :roflhard: My GKs would get a kick out of tags like that. I wonder where their weird sense of humor comes from.

oh my, these patterns bring back {shudder} memories. Some are too ghastly to even chuckle at. I suppose somebody with a really great sense of humour could do it.

I grew up during the 70s, but I don’t ever remember anything as horrible as this. Sad. So sad.
