I want to start a new project. It calls for size 8 and size 10 needles. I usually have to go up a size, so I knit the swatch with 10 1/2 needles and the guage is just about right. (Pattern said to knit the swatch with the 10s.)
So…the 8s are for the ribbing at the bottom of the sweater. Since I have to go up a size for the main part should I knit the ribbing with 9s instead of 8s?
Also, when I switch needle sizes, do I just slip out the smaller ones and slip in the larger ones? (sorry…I’m a relatively new knitter.)
Thanks so much for your help!
