I knitted this for a colleague of mine who is a Harry Potter Fan. It’s his Christmas gift. I started this back on the 10th of June and finished a few days ago. Although the knitting was pretty dull, I learned 3 things.

I can’t imagine knitting more than one of these in a year. I had thought to knit two more for my nephews, but I decided to hold off until a) they want one and b) they are old enough to appreciate them.

That’s great and nice job on the fringe also! I’ve not heard about that 3 needle bind off…you mean it stops the whole scarf from curling in??
Amy has a video of the bind off --it’s pretty easy. The main thing is to make sure you have knitted though both loops. And once you’ve seamed an end shut, no more curl in. And it made adding the fringe easier, in my opinion, because you don’t have to cope with the curling end.

What yarn did you use? I want to make one for my brother for Christmas.
I used Plymouth encore worsted in 1014 (butternut, I think is the name) and 999 (burnt sienna). I ended up needing 5, not 4 skeins of the main color (burnt sienna) but that might just be me.
