Greetings from GERMANY!

Well, I made it here a few days ago- and have finally found a way to use the Internet on my computer in the hotel-- cost about $100.00 but, I’m good for a month now. EURO is very expensive!
I will be living in a beautiful area- I did finally post some updated photos on my blog: http://iwouldratherbeknitting.blogspot.com

Update on my thumb tendon injury- I spent a month in a cast and am now in a remove-able cast that I can take off a few times a day. Soon, I’ll be wearing a support brace that will stay on all night and whenever I’ll be using my hand. Still can’t lift anything heavy w/ it or knit w/ my hand-- but, at least the hand surgeon opted out on the surgery for my hand that he had talked about. (yeah!)

I miss knitting so much… however, I have a lot to do w/ my new job, my move, etc.

:yay: You’ll have to update your location now.

Thanks for the reminder- I changed my location.

Glad to hear that you finally made it to Germany. The house looks fantastic, well worth waiting until September for. When do you actually start work?

In between changing bank accounts, studying for my German driver’s test (yikes! IT IS A HARD ONE), etc… I’ve already started working in my classroom. I have boxes that I had mailed to myself there and tons of boxes of art supplies from schools that had closed-- so, it is going to take some time to get things organized/etc. Students start towards the end of AUG (not sure the date at this time) but, I officially report on AUG 18. So, not much time is left.

Good Luck! Relocating is such a chore!

Glad to hear that you found a place you like to rent. It looks very nice. We lived in quarters, rather than out on the economy, but a friend had place not unlike yours.Every month when she paid the rent they’d ask her for dinner, it took about fifteen minutes for her to decide that they were trying to set her up with their son.

Hope your thumb heals quickly, and you can get back to knitting.

Germany, isn’t that near New Jersey? :??

I just saw the pics of Germany on your blog. I want to see more. It is beautiful. Also, the dog on your blog looks just like my dog. He is probably a rat terrier like my dog and they sling things back and forth by nature. That’s how they kill rats. Love the pictures.

Thanks all- I’ll keep posting photos on my blog… now, that I can use the computer again! :woot:

I didn’t sleep last night, my hotel doesn’t have AC of course… nor is there a fan in my room. IT was in the 90’s yesterday… (sort of unusual they tell me) and it was just miserable last night… reminded me of my childhood in the south. We couldn’t afford AC and a fan doesn’t cut it when it’s hot outside. However, I would have been happy to have had a fan.

I had tried to buy one at the BX/PX on Sat. They were out. (Doesn’t shock me) We tried to find one off base- but, didn’t know where to look and in the 5 stores that I looked in- they didn’t have one.

However, it is beautiful here and the lack of a fan or AC is my only complaint. (at this time) It is now MONDAY and I’ll see what I can do today about a fan. Sure do hope it’s not like MONDAY in Italy ‘where’ the stores (off base) are closed.

So, those of you in hot climates… appreciate your AC and fans for me.

Knitting guy… you need a new MAP! :roflhard:

Your house is very pretty! How neat to live overseas among the culture of the people.

Hope you can get back to knitting soon. It would be difficult to not be able to knit!
