I decided it was time for me to knit something for ME! So I decided on the Green Gablepattern & splurged on some Corntastic yarn, yup, 100% corn, 105 yards a skein and super soft. I’m making a size 36" and loving the yarn! Here’s a couple green gable pics
I CO June 31 and that was it, no pic for that…
this is after 105 yards used & one day of knitting
& this is after 210 yards used, well almost, day two of knitting
the pic above is where it was last night when I went to bed.
I hope to work on it lots this weekend, and hopefully have it done to wear on our ‘date’ night on the 12th. I have 3 kids so that might be a challenge, so far so good though, I think.
I love the feel of the yarn & I love knitting iwth it. Not sure if it pills yet as it’s only that much done but the LYS had a baby blanket sample that was machine knit and it was super nice. Splitty, well a tiny bit, but the only thing I’ve ever had to knit with before (to use as a splitty yarn) was the micro-spun from lion brand and that stuff is HORIBLE! I was going to make my mom a feather/fan scarf with that and yup, it’s sittin in the bottom of my stash chest, only about 6" done…Anyway compared to that it isn’t splitty at all, but compared to sock yarn or something like patons sws etc it does split, but just a tiny bit, and very rare. I’m using size 6 options. Is that clear as mud?
I bought the yarn at Village Wools, the LYS in Albuquerque, NM.
done, it only took 1 week from Co to BO!!! I’m pleased with it.
Now onto the Central Park Hoodie - for me
thanks for all the compliments…the yarn was wonderful, if youre on ravelry check it out there.
Awesome! So pretty, and it looks like a great fit. Did you have to make any adjustments to the pattern? The reason I ask is because I read on a blog that the pattern runs small (because the sweater is supposed to be a close fit) and the arm holes are tight, so that knitter suggested going up one size. Did you find that to be a problem?
