Great Project for using leftover yarn

A little while ago someone was asking what they could do with left over yarn.
A friend sent me this link.

Have a great day

That’s a great one!! Thanks!

CUTE!

oooh, cute fishies!! My boys would love this!

I could make a scarf two fish wide for DH!

I’ll call it “One Fish, Two Fish”. And alternate them red and blue! That combines two of his loves, fishing and Seuss.

If he won’t wear it, DD will.

this would be good for kids to knit. A great adult/child working together project. Great idea, thanks

Really cute ~ and I love the "one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish " idea !

Thanks for the link!! Very creative.

Sara!!! I love that idea! How cute that would be!

I’ve been working on this afghan since September or October. I have it as a long-term project in the side-bar of my blog. I’m doing it in 4 different colours of RHSS for my youngest DD. I’m making mine a bedspread-sized one, so I know that I’m going to need between 100 and 200 fish.

BTW: The fish “puffs up” in the middle when you are doing the decreases for the fin. This mostly comes out when you sew the fish together. Also, each fish takes me about 30 minutes to knit.

Is anyone else having trouble with this link? I have seen the fish before and was wanting to start using some of my leftovers on beginning a blanket/afghan. If anyone has another link I would be most greatful if they let me know. TIA.

i just tried it and can’t get it to work either.

Links not working for me either, and I really want to see the fishies!

I might have the page saved here since I am making it for my DD. If not, I’ll pull out a fish and get it from that.

Nicole, if you can do that I will be REALLY greatful. Although I may end up regreting starting the fishies after 20 or so… LOL

Actually, I would equal them to about a granny square in crocheting. They don’t take me long at all to make, and that’s saying alot! :roflhard: What I’m regretting is all the sewing later… since I’ve basically promised myself that it will be bedspread sized. I’m going to do some kind of crocheted border on it too.

I did a search on my pooter and I don’t have the file saved. I will be able to dig out a fish once I’ve got this sock done and get it all figured out.

Here is Google’s cached version of the page the patttern was on. Grab it quick! I don’t know how long it will be around.

I clicked on the link @ the bottom which points to a blog where, apparently, the pattern was also posted, and the blogger commented that she was taking it down, but didn’t really state a reason.

OMG that is tooooo CUTE !!! I can’t wait to use all my left overs on one !!! I wanna make one for my kitty !!! That is awsome looking !

Thank you so much Julie, I have saved it to my computer quickly so I can get started, after the lacy scarves of course.

You’re very welcome, and Spooky: That’s a great idea for a kitty blanket! How appropriate!
