Grandma/grandmother/nana/etc pattern

`
an odd request, i know… does anyone know of a knitting pattern with grandma/grandmother/nana/similar in the title? i’m having a hard time finding anything other than the ubiquitous grandma washcloth or granny squares.

a friend’s grandmother passed last week, and i’d like to knit her something with the keyword(s) in the title. i found a nice shawl on ravelry, but the pattern isn’t originally in english, and it turns out it’s only free if you buy the yarn (from europe), so that’s a no-go.

a shawl, or shrug, or small blanket… something ‘cozy’ would be ideal, but i’m open to all sorts of ideas/suggestions. i’ll keep looking, but thought i’d fish for possibilities here too.

thanks!

You mean you want the words on it? Or something described as “grandma” in the name?

i’d like the name of the pattern to include ‘grandma’ or a variation.

i don’t want to embroider, or duplicate stitch, or knit the word

the shawl pattern i found was ‘when grandma met grandpa’ which was a really nice sentiment, as my friend noted her grandparents’ history, and that now her grandma was at peace with her grandpa who passed a few years ago.

but, not the pattern for me if it’s translated and only free with an overseas yarn purchase. still, something in that vein would be nice.

thanks for checking in, jan.

Pick something you like and give it your own name.

There are lots of patterning various grandma names on Rav.

i did the grandma, grandmother, granny, grannie, etc search earlier there, but hadn’t seen the granny smith wrap. that’s a nice one. thanks jan!
