Hi,
I am working a seed stitch pattern and somehow screwed up. I just finished a row, and there are 48 stitches when there should be 49 stitches, I count stitches after completing every row because I am new at this. So I got to the end of the row and the row should end with a knit but it’s ending in a purl since I am short a stitch. I need to rip out the whole row since I am a perfectionist and I know the mistake is somewhere in this row. How do I do this? Please be very slow and specific with the instructions, I find it really hard to do things unless it is explained very basically. Thank you!!!
You may have to do 2 rows to find the error, but be that as it may, it won’t be too bad. Since it is only 48 stitches “Tink” it (Knit backwards 
). That means undo each stitch 1 by 1. This is better than ripping the whole row out, because
- it is seed stitch and you will have to move the yarn front to back as you go.
- you may find the error only 10 stitches back rather than all the way back.
- you won’t have to worry about twisting stitches when you pick up the loops of an entirely ripped out row.

If it were me I’d take it out stitch by stitch (tinking) for a couple rows.
Yes to the above and also, before you start re-doing, see if you can spot the mistake. When seed stitch goes bad, it’s usually fairly easy to spot because of the alternating pattern.
