Goodwill find

So I was scouting the local Goodwill stores this afternoon to see if I could find more yarn for the kids, just acrylic whatever yarn, as I’ve done before.
So I walk in and see a laundry basket filled with cone yarn, sport weight or so. Two said 100% wool on the inside of the cone, but it could not have been, as it was an elasticy/nylon type machine knitting yarn. Pretty, though. One I discounted immediately as it was a putrid green I knew I’d never use.
I did grab a couple of zipper bags of odds and ends, pretty good-size acrylic balls, for the kids to knit with.
Back to the cones…what’s this? Feels like wool. Off-white, fingering weight…inside the cone it says “Brown Sheep Company.” Gulp. I did a quick look-around, broke off a piece, spit in my hand and did the felt test.
BINGO. Must be at least 2000 yards. The price: $1.99.

Excellent find! I wish I could find stuff like that at my local Salvation Army thrift store, and I asked about yarn and the like, but they said there is a lady who comes in every day at the crack of dawn to buy up any yarn. No way am I going to beat her to it! LOL!
