I know there was a thread here earlier on this topic, with lots of greats reads listed, but I couldn’t find it. Anyway, I just finished [U]Leaving Mother Lake [/U]by Yang Erche Namu and Christine Mathieu. It is a true story of a girl growing up in an almost isolated area of the Himalayas in Chinaduring the 50’s and 60’s. Christine Mathieudid her doctoral dissertation on this culture. Fascinating!

I too have read [U][I]Three Cups of Tea[/I][/U]. It was a good read. I am an avid reader. Anyone have non-fictions they can recommend?

Currently I am reading, [U][I]The Jade Peony[/I][/U] by Wayson Choy. He has also written, [I][U]All That Matters[/U][/I]. Choy is a Canadian writer.
