Gloves-need help w/ fingers

I am working on making a pair of fingerless gloves, and sort of working out the pattern as I go along. I have small hands, so am sort of making it all up as I go along. I’ve got the thumb on a stitch holder and have worked my way up to the fingers…(oh and I am using double pointed needles)

I am not really sure how to divide up the stitches for the fingers…Do I have to cast on some extra stitches for a little gusset(sp?) between the fingers? Should I use less stitches for the pinkie or do all fingers w/ the same number of stitches?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I’d look at some other patterns to see what they do.

www.knittingpatterncentral.com is a good place. Then you can adapt the techniques to your’s.

You can do any of those things, normally the little finger has fewer stitches but that depends on your tension etc. Checking out other patterns is good. If you want a proper gusset between fingers, search for I think Sanquhar glove patterns.
